5-Day Family Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi Adventure Begins
Start your family adventure with a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see baby elephants being fed and learn about conservation. Continue to Giraffe Centre where kids can hand-feed Rothschild giraffes. Afternoon at leisure with family activities at your hotel. Evening family safari briefing with fun wildlife games.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru Family Fun
Drive to Lake Nakuru (2.5 hours with fun stops). Check into family-friendly lodge with swimming pool. Afternoon short game drive to see pink flamingos - kids love counting them! Visit to viewpoints where children can safely enjoy panoramic views. Evening family time with games and stargazing.
Day 3: Maasai Mara Magic
Journey to Maasai Mara with scenic stops and wildlife spotting games en route. Arrive at family tented camp with connecting tents for parents and kids. Late afternoon gentle game drive focusing on easy-to-spot animals like zebras, giraffes, and elephants. Kids receive junior ranger certificates and wildlife identification booklets.
Day 4: Big Cats & Cultural Fun
Early morning family game drive with breakfast picnic in the bush - kids love eating outdoors with wildlife around! Search for lions, leopards, and cheetahs with guide explaining animal behaviors in kid-friendly ways. Afternoon visit to Maasai village where children participate in traditional games and learn about Maasai culture through storytelling.
Day 5: Final Safari & Departure
Final morning game drive with children leading the animal spotting with their new identification skills. Farewell breakfast at camp with certificate ceremony for junior rangers. Depart for Nairobi with lunch en route. Stop at souvenir shops for family to purchase safari memories. Arrive Nairobi late afternoon for hotel or airport transfer.
